Pride Fighter Fedor

Pride Fighter FedorPride fighter Fedor Emelianenko (Russian, September 28, 1976) is a Russian heavyweight mixed martial arts fighter and the current Heavyweight Champion in the PRIDE Fighting Championships, currently based in Japan. He has a professional MMA record of 23-1-0. He was the 1998 bronze medalist in Russian Judo championship; the 2002 World Sambo heavyweight division champion, the 2005 World Combat Sambo champion; Rings: King of Kings 2001 heavyweight tournament champion; Rings: King of Kings 2002 absolute weight class tournament champion and PRIDE FC 2004 Heavyweight Grand Prix tournament champion. He has been the reigning heavyweight champion in PRIDE since March 16, 2003. Fedor is what Pride fighting is all about. There has yet to be as dominant as a fighter as him. It is truley amazing and he is sure to keep up his dominance for many years to come!

On August 28, 2005, Emelianenko successfully defended his heavyweight title by defeating Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic by way of unanimous decision in the Pride FC Final Conflict event held in Saitama, Japan. It was his third title defense.

Emelianenko has had continuing problems with a persistent hand injury. Originally compacted in his 2003 bout with Gary Goodridge, Emelianenko has compounded his injury by continuing to compete without receiving adequate treatment and recuperation. In 2006, Emelianenko finally agreed to undergo surgery to break and re-set bones in his hand properly at a hospital in St. Petersburg, Russia. His recovery process is currently ongoing as of July 2006.

Its been officially announced that Pride Heavyweight Champion "Fedor Emelianenko" will defend his title against the former UFC Heavyweight Champion and Pride 2000 Grand Prix winner Mark "The Hammer" Coleman in Pride’s first ever USA show on October 21st 2006. This would be Fedor’s first fight after the hand surgery.

Pride Fighter Chuck Liddell

Pride Fighter Chuck Liddell

I do not know if Chuck Liddell will ever be a Pride Fighter! But maybe Chuck Liddell can fight in Pride Fighting Championship once again!  Chuck has been to Pride before.  Liddell went to Japan to compete in the PRIDE 2003 Middleweight Grand Prix tournament as the UFC’s representative. (PRIDE’s middleweight division is comparable to UFCs light heavyweight division). After defeating Alistair Overeem in the tourney’s first round, Liddell was defeated by Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, who is to date Liddell’s last and sole unavenged career loss.

It was announced at UFC 61 in July 2006 that if Liddell beats Sobral, he will fight PRIDE Middleweight (205 lb) Champion, Wanderlei Silva in November at Las Vegas. Dana White confirmed that the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship will be on the line at a press conference after the fight. [1] However, more recent press reports have indicated that contract negotiations between the UFC and PRIDE have failed, which may prevent the fight from happening.[2][3] It is also rumored that Liddell will face Tito Ortiz once again for the Light Heavyweight championship sometime in December after comments made by Ortiz at UFC 62

So will this fight ever happen? Chuck Liddell vs. Wanderlei Silva !! I sure hope so and it will sell out and hundreds of thousands of people will pay to watch Chuck Liddell in the Pride Fighting Championships

Pride Fighting Championships

PRIDE or PRIDE Fighting Championships is a major mixed martial arts organization based in Japan. It is currently promoted by Dream Stage Entertainment (DSE). Its inaugural event was held at the Tokyo Dome on October 11, 1997, promoted by Kakutougi Revolution Spirits (KRS).[1] It is the most popular MMA organization in the world based on the number of event attendees: the PRIDE Final Conflict 2003 event had over 67,000 people in the audience. The audience record is 91,107 people on the PRIDE and K-1 co-production Shockwave/Dynamite, held in August 2002.

On June 5, 2006, Fuji Network announced that they were terminating their television contract with PRIDE Fighting Championships effective immediately due to a breach of contract by DSE. [2]. This leaves PRIDE with only SKY PerfecTV, a pay-per-view carrier, as a television outlet in Japan, and the lack of the substantial revenues from the Fuji deal threatens its sustainability. DSE has been surrounded by speculation in the Japanese media, especially in Japanese tabloid Shukan Gendai, that it may be a front by a notorious yakuza group. DSE responded to the loss by stating they will continue with their schedule as currently planned, including an event in Las Vegas, Nevada, PRIDE 32 on October 21, 2006, PRIDE’s first event outside of Japan.

Pride Fighting Bushido

Pride BushidoThe word BUSHIDO translates from the Japanese language as "the way of the warrior." More specifically, the term refers to the principals and moral code that developed among the samurai (military) class of Japan. Today, in the spirit of the samurai from Japan, PRIDE FC brings you the "way of the warrior" with its mixed martial arts event, BUSHIDO. Featuring a mixture of elite fighters as well as young up and coming talent, BUSHIDO presents the entire spectrum of weight classes, from lightweights to heavy weights. In addition, BUSHIDO provides flexibility for more experimental fight card formats, such as "team" competitions putting country versus country, or fight team versus fight team. BUSHIDO also welcomes up and coming fighters, giving them an opportunity to prove themselves in BUSHIDO "Challenge Matches."

BUSHIDO rules are generally the same as PRIDE FC rules with some exceptions:

In BUSHIDO fights are two rounds (instead of three). The first round is ten (10) minutes, and the second round is five (5) minutes. There are no extra rounds. If the fight goes the distance then judges decide on a winner.
For BUSHIDO "Challenge Matches," fights are two (2) rounds. The first and second rounds are five (5) minutes each. If the fight goes to the full time limit no decision will be rendered. The fight will be ruled a draw.
In BUSHIDO, red cards are used in the same way that yellow cards are used in PRIDE FC. In BUSHIDO, if fighters commit the following actions, they shall be given a red card by officials: Stalling or failure to initiate any offensive attack, making no attempt to finalize the match or damage the opponent, and holding the opponent’s body with the arms and legs to produce a stalemate. A red card results in a 10% deduction/fine of the fighter’s fight purse. A major difference in the penalty card system between PRIDE FC and BUSHIDO is that in PRIDE FC a total of three yellow cards results in a disqualification, while in BUSHIDO red cards can be given out in an unlimited number without disqualification.
So if you’re looking for mixed martial arts action, BUSHIDO is the event to order

Pride Fighter

Becoming a Pride Fighter is not an easy task. It takes many years to sep into the ring with these crazy mo fo’s.  Pride fighters are genarry gnarly guys to begin with they are already one step ahead of the average guy.  A pride fighter not only trains once a day every daty , but most train 3 times a day at the very least.  I have a friend who trains to become a Pride Fighter. He has a nutritionist who keeps him on a very strict diet.  If he does not stick to the diet he will have less endurance and migh gas in early round.  Pride sometimes has ten minute first rounds so you must be prepared to do this properly.  Most pride fighters wake up at 8 A.M. , they then eat a proper meal, and get to training by Nine A.M. . They train with their team until about eleven. They break eat more and then hit the gym for a couple hours. Now the rest for the evening training sesion which is usually at 7 P.M. until 9 P.M. Then they go to sleep by 12. This is what they do every day of the year! It’s crazy if you want to be a Pride Fighter you must be focused and ready to commit your life to becoming a pride fighter . If you make it to the big leauges and win you will reap all the benefits of fame which includes groupies, cash money, and power. It is good times when you are on top and make sure you do not get too caucky because someone will be able to beat you one day!  Be careful and show respect to your fellow Pride Fighter !
