Pride Fighter FedorPride fighter Fedor Emelianenko (Russian, September 28, 1976) is a Russian heavyweight mixed martial arts fighter and the current Heavyweight Champion in the PRIDE Fighting Championships, currently based in Japan. It is truley amazing and he is sure to keep up his dominance for many years to come!

On August 28, 2005, Emelianenko successfully defended his heavyweight title by defeating Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic by way of unanimous decision in the Pride FC Final Conflict event held in Saitama, Japan. It was his third title defense.

Emelianenko has had continuing problems with a persistent hand injury. Originally compacted in his 2003 bout with Gary Goodridge, Emelianenko has compounded his injury by continuing to compete without receiving adequate treatment and recuperation. In 2006, Emelianenko finally agreed to undergo surgery to break and re-set bones in his hand properly at a hospital in St. Petersburg, Russia. His recovery process is currently ongoing as of July 2006.

Its been officially announced that Pride Heavyweight Champion "Fedor Emelianenko" will defend his title against the former UFC Heavyweight Champion and Pride 2000 Grand Prix winner Mark "The Hammer" Coleman in Pride’s first ever USA show on October 21st 2006. This would be Fedor’s first fight after the hand surgery.

Pride Fighter Chuck Liddell

Pride Fighter Chuck Liddell

I do not know if Chuck Liddell will ever be a Pride Fighter! But maybe Chuck Liddell can fight in Pride Fighting Championship once again!  Chuck has been to Pride before.  Liddell went to Japan to compete in the PRIDE 2003 Middleweight Grand Prix tournament as the UFC’s representative. (PRIDE’s middleweight division is comparable to UFCs light heavyweight division). After defeating Alistair Overeem in the tourney’s first round, Liddell was defeated by Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, who is to date Liddell’s last and sole unavenged career loss.

It was announced at UFC 61 in July 2006 that if Liddell beats Sobral, he will fight PRIDE Middleweight (205 lb) Champion, Wanderlei Silva in November at Las Vegas. Dana White confirmed that the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship will be on the line at a press conference after the fight. [1] However, more recent press reports have indicated that contract negotiations between the UFC and PRIDE have failed, which may prevent the fight from happening.[2][3] It is also rumored that Liddell will face Tito Ortiz once again for the Light Heavyweight championship sometime in December after comments made by Ortiz at UFC 62

So will this fight ever happen? Chuck Liddell vs. Wanderlei Silva !! I sure hope so and it will sell out and hundreds of thousands of people will pay to watch Chuck Liddell in the Pride Fighting Championships

Pride Fighter

Becoming a Pride Fighter is not an easy task. It takes many years to sep into the ring with these crazy mo fo’s.  Pride fighters are genarry gnarly guys to begin with they are already one step ahead of the average guy.  A pride fighter not only trains once a day every daty , but most train 3 times a day at the very least.  I have a friend who trains to become a Pride Fighter. He has a nutritionist who keeps him on a very strict diet.  If he does not stick to the diet he will have less endurance and migh gas in early round.  Pride sometimes has ten minute first rounds so you must be prepared to do this properly.  Most pride fighters wake up at 8 A.M. , they then eat a proper meal, and get to training by Nine A.M. . They train with their team until about eleven. They break eat more and then hit the gym for a couple hours. Now the rest for the evening training sesion which is usually at 7 P.M. until 9 P.M. Then they go to sleep by 12. This is what they do every day of the year! It’s crazy if you want to be a Pride Fighter you must be focused and ready to commit your life to becoming a pride fighter . If you make it to the big leauges and win you will reap all the benefits of fame which includes groupies, cash money, and power. It is good times when you are on top and make sure you do not get too caucky because someone will be able to beat you one day!  Be careful and show respect to your fellow Pride Fighter !

Mirko Crocop

Mirko CroCop Mirko Crocop has the strongest weapon whihch is killer left high kick. He is CRO COP and his time is coming! Mirko Filipovic is 32 years old. Ten years ago he got familiar with Tai-boxing and other martial arts. In 1996. In Seoul he already became world champion in full contact. That year, in the age of 22, with only two Thai-boxing fights, he entered K1 tournament in Tokyo, where he has defeated one of the eight best fighters, European champion in the professional category at the time and world vice-champion. By that victory Mirko makes an entrance among the "glorious eight" of that absolute invitational world championship in Thai-boxing. He chose that sport because it’s "toughest, the most cruel, the most dangerous and it’s a sport where everything is allowed…"

Mirko is CRO COP, ex police officer, ex member of AntiTerorist Force Lucko to whom Thai-boxing is a sport challenge and a philosophy of life. That persistent, skillful, nimble and swift high school student, just in a few years, grew up into an excellent boxer. His trainers are capable of preparing his 188 cm of height and 98 kilograms of weight for the toughest efforts. Mirko is a sportsman ready for self-sacrifices to obtain top physical and psychological form. CRO COP uses his strenght only in boxing ring. Untill now he had over 50 matches, he lost only few of them. He respects his opponents, but in the ring he shows no mercy for them. Today he’s a fighter used to fight in front of 100.000 spectators. He obtained self-confidence, firmness, he became faster, more dangerous and deadly. Mirko says he gains internal peace, calm and relaxation with fights, with self-confidence. He hates "lame, pale" fights.
A mirko crocop hilght video trailer for crocop vs fedor, crocop vs yoshida, and crocrop vs silva is available online for this ultimate fighting fighter who fights in the Pride Fighting Championships.

Pride Fighting History

Pride Fighting

PRIDE FIGHTING or PRIDE Fighting Championships is a mixed martial arts organization based in Japan, promoted by Dream Stage Entertainment. Its inaugural event was held at the Tokyo Dome on October 11, 1997. It is the most popular MMA organization in the world based on the number of event attendees: the Pride Final Elimination 2003 event had 65,000 people in the audience. The audience record is 90,000 people on the Pride and K-1 co-production called Shockwave/Dynamite held in August 2002.

Pride’s rules result in similar styles of fighting as seen in Ultimate Fighting Championship in the United States. Unlike the UFC, where matches take place within a cage, Pride holds its bouts within a boxing style ring. Notable differences between Pride FC and the UFC are:

Kicking and kneeing a downed opponent are allowed in Pride fighting but not in UFC.
Elbows to the head/face are allowed in UFC but not in Pride. fighting

A legendary event in Japan, the PRIDE FIGHTING CHAMPIONSHIPS match the world’s elite fighters in competitions of honor and art. Imagine Brazilian Jiu – Jitsu practitioner versus kick boxer, Judo specialist versus wrestler … this is the sport of mixed martial arts … this is PRIDE FC. Each match is the culmination of years of training by these athletes, the finest representatives of their martial art who not only compete for victory, but also to defend their fighting style!

PRIDE FC began in 1997 with one philosophy—the acceptance of any fighting technique from any school. In other words, attempt to mimic the realities of an actual fight in the form of a legitimate and honorable sport. The Brazilians call is "Vale Tudo," some fans call it "no holds barred," but today both of these terms have evolved into a sport called "mixed martial arts." For PRIDE FIGHTING CHAMPIONSHIP, this dream was realized on October 11, 1997 when Rickson Gracie faced Nobuhiko Takada at the main event of PRIDE FC I at the Tokyo Dome in Japan. Gracie personified the legend of Gracie Jiu Jitsu, his family’s unique fighting style from Brazil. His opponent, Takada, represented the style of professional wrestling. Both claimed the superiority of their fighting art and looked to prove it to themselves, their opponents, and the fans. This philosophy is what continues to drive PRIDE FC today.

Though the basic idea is to eliminate as many restrictions as possible in a mixed martial arts match, this is still ultimately a sport and safety is always paramount. In its history, there have been no serious injuries in any PRIDE FC event. When more closely compared to such mainstream American sports as NFL-style football (with its violent collisions) and boxing (with its repeated head blows), the sport of mixed martial arts has an impeccable safety record. In PRIDE FIGHTING , the referee has the authority and obligation to stop the match whenever a fighter is no longer able to defend himself. To compliment this, seven doctors are available at ringside in the event of any type of accident or emergency. In addition, there are a series of rules, implemented both to protect the fighters and to uphold the integrity of the sport.
